Tomorrow is the day-

I know most people start their New Year’s Resolutions on January 1 or somewhere close to there, but since tomorrow is Monday, and Monday has always been a good day for me, I’m choosing to get started early. First of all, I’m not considering what I’m doing a resolution, instead I’m looking at it as a transformation.  Trying to get my health back together so that I can be an example to my family and the people that I plan to help with their own transformations. 

 In preparation for that I took some measurements so that I know where I’m starting and I know where I plan to go.  My goal weight is somewhere around 130, but that number is not set in stone since I’m focusing on how I feel and how I look more than on my weight.  I weighed in this morning and came in at 176.8, so I’m a little more than I thought, but its fine. It can only get better from here, right?

My other measurements are: upper arm 12.75 inches, waist 35.5 inches, hips 45 inches, and finally thighs 29 inches.  According SparkPeople.com if I lose approximately 1 pound a week I can be at my goal weight on or around 11/22/2013.  I, like many people, want to see those pounds melt away in no time flat but I know that this is not the case.  I know that effective and lasting weight loss takes time and I have to be willing to accept this fact and all of the ups and downs that go along with it.  I will have good weeks and bad weeks, I will lose and gain weight, I will have days where I’m not fully motivated, I’m human and I have to learn to live with that.  I have to keep track of my progress, but not go crazy with it, so I’m only going to weigh in on Monday mornings and take measurements and pictures once a month.
