Sorry I’ve not checked in for the last couple of days but all is still well. I’m continuing to move forward and still making progress doing the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. As of this morning I weighed in at 178.0lbs which is now a 6.4lb loss since Monday. I’m really excited that I’m continuing to see positive results and that I still feel really good.
The weekend has been more difficult because when I go to work during the week I pack all of my meals and everything is planned out that way. On the weekend my schedule gets a little crazy because I sleep in (I love sleep) then I have to adjust my meals accordingly. On Friday a co-worker went to Potbelly’s and got cookies and Dream Bars for the team and I did not partake. On Saturday, I went to a Bridal Shower over the weekend and was impressed with my ability to walk away from the cake and ice cream sundaes (I love those too). I said that I am going to stick with my plan for the full 24 Days and so far I have been able to do that. I still need to increase my exercise to continue with my progress.
I used today as a prep day to get ready for the week. I baked some chicken that I can cut up and use in either salads or eat with brown rice and veggies. I made some hard boiled eggs for an easy breakfast or snack option. And finally I made some homemade hummus to be eaten with fresh veggies as a snack. All of the items that my husband and I will be taking this week are placed into individual baggies labeled by day so that all we have to do is grab and go. Doing this helps me at night so that I don’t have to spend an extreme amount of time packing lunches every night.
I think that this plan, like any other that focuses on eating healthy, un- or minimally processed foods requires that you think and plan ahead, otherwise you fall victim to eating out and I’m quickly figuring out that it is really hard to find healthy options when eating out. It’s really bad when even salads make you stop and think about whether or not it’s a good option.
